sndBox is a social web experiment to rediscover sound. Questions will be posted on a regular basis, asking the community to consider what a particular sound might sound like, and then to capture and upload it to the site.

And what does a strawberry sound like? One person thought of 'squish;' another, 'crunch;' and yet another, the commotion of a picnic. These kinds of interpretations aid in stripping meaning from sound, to hear a sound once again. Questions will be always be open-ended, to build a library of not-sound clips, sounds linked to new expectations and understanding between novices of sound and audio professionals alike.
